George Harrison

One of George Harrison's most overlooked passions was the Ukulele. He discovered the Ukulele whilst on holiday with his parents, he loved the old George Formby movies, and bought his first instrument for £5
George began playing the Ukulele to Beatles songs during the latter half of the 1960's, including tracks like "I'm happy just to dance with you" and "you've got to hide your love away".
Perhaps his most famous, when he used the Ukulele to add a touch of melancholy and nostalgia to his song "When my guitar gently weeps".
In 2003 he was inducted into the "Ukulele Hall of Fame", an honour rarely given to musicians.

Marilyn Monroe

In 1959, near the end of her extraordinary career, Marilyn starred in "Some Like It Hot", widely considered one of the greatest film comedies of all time.
Monroe played the role of Sugar Cane, the singer and Ukulele player for Sweet Sue and her Society Syncopators and the object of romantic pursuit by Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon's characters, musicians disguised as women.
In one of the film's Roaring Twenties inspired musical numbers, Monroe energetically sings, dances and strums the Ukulele, adding mastery of the instrument to her formidable repertoire of skills.

In the biography of Elvis Presley, it is clearly marked that he was a Ukulele aficianado. He played it all the time in the coach during his journeys, especially between cities where he had to perform and go on stage.
The Ukulele was first seen in the hands of Elvis in the 1961 movie "Blue Hawaii". It was followed a year later by the song "Girls,Girls,Girls". Elvis also wanted to produce a new hit with his Ukulele. Finally we had to wait for the famous piece called "Paradise Hawaiian Style" to find the King with a Ukulele in his hand on several sequences.
