Clare It's more about the "life in my years" than the "years in my life" and boy, have I crammed some living in. I've been in the entertainment business since my late teens - some 6 million years ago. From professional singer and actor to BBC afternoon radio presenter and cruise ship Cabaret act.
The latter I did with my sisters, Dolores and Marianne, for 22 years...lockdown finally curbing our sailing. Too much fun for my 4ft 11 in frame? Yes, I thought so too, retiring last August - only to be bored by September, I kid you not!! Then came the concept of a Ukulele band of like minded women... and success! Who'd have thought it!!?
Dolores I have always had two jobs, the "day job" and the "night job". The day job saw me working in roles from admin to PA. I graduated from UCLan with Bsc(hons) in psychology at 40. I became a Celebrant and was privileged to tell the final stories of many wonderful people.
These days I prefer my audience with a pulse! The night job singing with my sisters Clare and Marianne in clubs, theatres and cruise ships. I felt my hands were too small to play guitar but when I held the Uke it fitted like a glove.
My Uke is Emerald Green... well it would be, wouldn’t it!

Music - my first love, dancing my passion! Combined they enrich my life! Living in Spain - The Mirador Dance Club was born and for 17 years the club brought much pleasure to so many people who all happily contributed by helping support the local charities while enhancing their own lives. Opportunity came to travel - giving dance instruction on cruise ships so for 14 years it's been wonderful helping others to realise their dream and take home happy dancing memories. Now I have a new friend to hug, my Ukulele - just love it.
Music the food of life, dancing the wine, what a perfect meal - enjoy!

My last 15 fantastic years of working were for the Patient Transport Ambulance service. After 14 years of retirement enjoying drama, choir, tap dancing and cycling, I thought why not put myself through months of sore fingers, frustrating plunking together with cursing to bring you the rounded person you see before you.
What I lack in natural talent I make up with sheer Yorkshire determination - OK!!!

I can't remember a time when I wasn't on stage in one way or another. Performing in theatres, clubland stages of every shape and size, and 22 years on cruise ships. Music has given me a wonderful lifestyle. Yes, I love entertaining but I'm probably the most shy in our family ... and certainly in this wonderful group!
I have never had the desire to go solo. I love harmonies and percussion ... so I belt out the beat with fun and style. This is the perfect platform for me - the introvert.
EXTROVERT! Bring it on

My tapestry of life has been woven with the brightest colours of love and laughter. It shows my journey along the rocky road of life that took me to places i didn't expect and gave me the chance to meet some extraordinary and wonderful people.
I'm a bit adventurous and think of myself as a work in progress and haven't decided yet what i will be when I grow up. My aim in life is to be a little bit of glitter in the grey, or a flamingo in a flock of pigeons. Entertaining has played a big part in my life, the Ukulele is my latest "fun baby" - it should be prescribed on the NHS.
